Finally a decent evening...

Giggity giggity... actually had 1 good evening finally, 9 June 08 (Monday). So I started the day off rough. By the time I got my replacement car it was about 1:30pm. I headed out to Köln (Ford plant). I got lost as per usual, and eventually made it. My colleague had been waiting for about 40 minutes for me to get there since he was going to the Niehl facility and can't call me since I have an American phone. So we went to Niehl talked to Joerg for a while then headed to Düsseldorf for the evening's füssbal matches.

We wandered around alt stadt (Old Town) for a bit then found a nice spot on the Rhine to watch the first game. Romania vs. France. Seeing as my boss is Romanian and couldn't watch the game I figured we would root for the underdogs. Well, as it was getting closer to game time many French athletic supporters began to file into the benches. The bar was outside under a tent with a large projector showing the game on the bank of the Rhine... Nice... So it was quickly noticed that we were the only two supporting Romania with many dirty looks. It was great since we had no worries since it was only the French... haha... Romania ended as an upset Null - Null which is good against the World Cup runner up France team. After the game ended we wandered around a bit more finally settling on an old time German Bar for dinner and the second match of Netherlands vs. Italy. The game was good, the schnitzel's better.

After the game it was time to go home. Frank loaned me his father in laws navigation system and I got home in record time. I found out my Smart car only does 150km/hr down hill. Too bad I had to give the navigation system back the next day. So I figure if the dude with the cash ever calls me back from Kiekert and I get my money I'll head to the media markt to get a navi of my own. Although it would be much cheaper to order one from the US (Less than half the price) I don't really want to wait the 6 days to get it. Maybe I can expense it...
