On shopping....

Had my first trip to the super market last night. I needed to get some drinks and food so my fridge wasn't so bare. Really I needed a pair of nail clippers since I know I brought a pair, but I looked through all of my bags and they seemed to disappear after I changed rooms. I finish my shopping and pay for all of my stuff, 3.50 Euro for the nail clippers ($5.60), I notice there is no bagger. Fine, I saw that before when I was getting my work visa. So I make some hand gestures for a bag as there aren't any at the end of the conveyor in this store. Imagine Meijer self checkout lines. So the cashier motions back in line where there's now 3 people waiting to check out. Under the conveyor are some bags. I grab one and the cashier in a stern tone is saying something to me when I recognize she is talking about money. Not understanding the number she said I reach into my pocket and pull out my change. She picks through and I have no idea how much it cost in the end, but she was not happy about the situation. So not only do you bag your own groceries here, you also have to pay for the plastic bags... how messed up is that? I also paid $1.60 for a McDonald's cheeseburger which they seem to think is good food... You have to pay for individual ketchup packets to the tune of about $0.25 per packet... Reason Noin this place is lame... Way too expensive here.

PS. I found my nail clippers this morning... In my suitcase where I looked 3 times...

Paying for ketchup packets and grocery bags? WTF? When I bring my own bags to the grocery store they knock 5 cents off my total for each bag.
