Ich bin sehr müde. I didn't actually go anywhere of importance this weekend, but it was a little bit of all right nonetheless. Friday I was supposed to go to Kai's friends birthday, but Kai was on the injured reserve list and cancelled. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise though. Saturday after trying to sleep in a bit I got some grocery shopping done etc. then headed out to a work function. As per usual I was harassed for not drinking, but got to use my new favorite, 'I'm sorry your life is so pathetic that you need beer to get through it.' As insulting as the statement is, everyone found it funny. Another funny thing is that whenever someone says something, and based on context and limited vocabulary I understand what they are saying, when they turn to me to repeat it in English and I tell them what they said, they get worried. On many occasions here I've had people say to me, 'oh, well then I'll have to be careful about what I say around you.' The only drawback is then people expect me to understand everything, which I don't. After some good food and hanging out for a bit Joerg and I headed over to the Depot in Velbert to meet up with some of his friends. This was at about 11:30. After 4 hours of dancing I was done and limped back to my car for the 45 minute drive home. Sunday was laundry and being lazy about the house. Today I'm still sore, tired, and disappointed that the USD has advanced so far on the EUR. There could have been at least $200 more in my pocket when I got home... oh well. Anyone do anything interesting over the weekend?Awesome Dude Playing the flute in Köln from my first visit. This guy plays every weekend.

Whatever. Just tell the Germans their Olympic basketball team sucks. The game just ended....49 point beatdown at the hands of the Americans. The usually horrible Angolans put up more of a fight earlier last week. Hell, even the women's soccer team got crushed by the Brazilians. It's safe to say I haven't seen the Germans get served like that since the Treaty of Versailles.

Oh BURN!! Damn, that's another entry for Tony in the contest. Hey, do they play Israel in any games?
Hah! I bet you didn't think Tony had an educational burn in him like Eric normally does. To answer your question: no, Israel doesn't play Germany in anything like basketball, or in no events that I know of. The jokes would really be flying around then if they did.
