The internet has been down at my apartment since last Wednesday. I sent a note to the lady who arranged the apartment for me to ask her to call my landlord on my behalf as I don't speak Deutsch and I know the guy doesn't really understand English. I got a call from my supervisor to discuss the details of the extension of my trip here. Apparently the lady got in touch with purchasing who looked at their contract and couldn't find anything about the internet. I'm about 80% sure that internet was included based on the original stat sheet about the apartment. I can't find that sheet anymore, nor did I ever receive the information via email so I can't prove it now. Regardless, I got a comment of, 'you'll just have to live without the internet for the next few weeks,' but absolutely nothing from her. It was dropped as an afterthought during our discussion which is a bunch of crap.

I got an email from the US asking me to extend my stay by 1-2 weeks. It was phrased as 'I would appreciate it if...' Part of the extension though is a required visit to the Czech Republic facility which is about half an hour outside of Prague. My response was, 'I would appreciate a trip to Prague to be included in this extension.' So the guy from the US said make it happen to the people here, which in turn means that I now have to schedule everything. The funny part is that a colleague from the US also commented about how useless ze Germans are about doing anything especially working. Preliminary indication is that I will now return on November 3rd. I'm not sure how I'm going to schedule my trip to the Czech yet, but I'll have to figure that out today/tomorrow. I'm stuck with the 'when will I have another opportunity to...' mentality. As much as I'm ready to say, 'piss off... I'm out,' I can't really pass up on that one...

Makes sense. As you said, when would you have the opportunity again. And once again, screw the lazy Germans.
Screw the lazy Germans, enjoy your time while you're there. Figure out how they get away with such slackass attitudes and emulate it :-)
You can't give up yet. Stay tough, Scott Braun....Für das deutsche Vaterland!!!!
